Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data the Planning Envelope Revit add-in (the "App") and the website hirb.co.nz handle. The App is published by BIMzy, a sole trader based in New Zealand ("we", "us"). Contact: support@hirb.co.nz.

1. What the App collects and how

The App does not upload your Revit models, drawings, geometry or project information. The only data the App sends over the internet is for licensing, to Lemon Squeezy's licence servers (api.lemonsqueezy.com):

Computer name and Windows user name (sent as the "instance name")	So you can recognise which computers use your licence, and enforce the 2-computer limit

The App stores the following on your computer only, encrypted for your Windows user, in %LocalAppData%\BIMzy\license.dat: your licence key, activation ID, expiry date, the email address on the licence, and the time of the last successful check. It also writes a local log file in %LocalAppData%\BIMzy\logs (software errors and actions; never uploaded automatically). The App contains no analytics, advertising or tracking software.

2. Purchases

Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects your name, email address, billing details and payment information, and handles sales tax/VAT. We receive your name, email address, country and order details so we can provide support and licences. We do not receive or store your card details. See Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Sharing with third parties

We share data only with Lemon Squeezy (payments and licensing). Lemon Squeezy may process data in countries outside your own, and has committed to protect it as described in its own privacy policy and data processing terms. We require any other service provider we may use to give your data the same level of protection as this policy describes. We may disclose data if required by law.

5. Retention and deletion

Licence and order records are kept for as long as your licence is active and for the period required by tax and accounting law (generally up to 7 years). Support emails are kept for up to 3 years. Local data on your computer stays until you remove it: uninstalling offers to delete %LocalAppData%\BIMzy, or delete it yourself at any time. Use Deactivate this PC in the Licence window to release an activation from the licence server.

6. Your rights and how to withdraw consent

You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, and withdraw consent to processing, by emailing support@hirb.co.nz. Withdrawing consent to licence checks means the App can no longer verify your licence and will stop working. If you are in New Zealand you also have rights under the Privacy Act 2020; if you are in the UK/EU you have rights under UK GDPR/GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

7. Security

Licence data on your computer is encrypted using Windows data protection. Communication with the licence server uses HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your licence key private.

8. Children

The App is a professional tool and is not directed at children.
